Athletic Complex
On October 8, 2011, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Emmanuel College’s new athletic complex. Construction has since begun, and the campus couldn’t be more excited as students, faculty, staff, and the Franklin Springs community eagerly await the completion of this facility.
Prospective features include a 76,000-square-foot wellness center, which will house a basketball arena; volleyball and intramural courts; an indoor track; a student fitness center with free weights, cardio machines, and an aerobics room; a swimming pool; a bowling alley; and a food court.
Outdoor facilities will include baseball and softball stadiums, eight tennis courts, a soccer pitch (field), a lacrosse field, and a sports field house with visitors’ locker rooms. Landscaping plans for the athletic complex feature an outdoor patio where students and Franklin Springs community members will be able to gather and enjoy lunch from the café or simply socialize.
The projected cost for this facility comes in just under $9 million, and Emmanuel is currently seeking donors to help participate in this project. Contact Brian James or President Stewart for information on how you can get involved.
