Cyndee Phillips is an adjunct professor in the School of Education. This year she is teaching Assessment for Learning, which focuses on the variety of assessments that teacher education program candidates will use in their course of study. She is also employed by the Franklin County Board of Education as the Executive Director of Teaching, Learning and Student Services, a central office administrative position. She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Curriculum Instructional Specialists (GACIS), which is under the umbrella of the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) statewide organization.

Cyndee received her AA in Liberal Arts from Emmanuel College in 1981 and her BA in Religion from Emmanuel College School of Christian Ministries in 1983. She received a Master’s of Education degree in Middle Grades Education from Brenau University in 1993. Cyndee received her Educational Specialist’s degree from Clemson University in Educational Leadership in 1998.

Cyndee has taught in the School of Education at Emmanuel College for the past five years. She previously taught fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students for 16 years, and has been a Board of Education administrator for the past ten years. She also teaches graduate level gifted endorsement courses for Pioneer RESA.

Cyndee is married to Dr. David C. Phillips, also an alumnus of Emmanuel College, and is the mother of two children, Courtney Callicutt (and her husband Josh), EC alumni, class of 2010 and Grayson (sophomore at Lee University).  The family attends Ekklesia Centre Church in Royston, GA, where she serves on the Praise and Adoration Worship Team, teaches children’s church, and hosts a Covenant Group on Sunday evenings.
