
Dr. Scott C. Bryan, II, joins the Emmanuel College faculty with 30 years of teaching experience to teach Kinesiology. Dr. Bryan taught for many years at Bluefield College, in Virginia, where he developed and oversaw the Exercise and Sport Science (ESS) curriculum to include 3 major concentrations: sport science - teaching licensure; sports medicine; and sport management.
Scott began his career teaching physical education and coaching high school baseball, basketball, and swimming in Merritt Island. In graduate school he worked for two years as a lab assistant in the human performance laboratory helping to conduct hundreds of physiological tests and experiments. He also worked as a doctoral student at Nissan Motor Company as a research assistant. Scott and his wife, Nancy, have been married for 32 years. They have three sons: Jeremy, 26 and an EC (11) grad , is a youth pastor at Bridge Church in Virginia Beach; Justin, 24, is a mechanical engineer in Columbus, Indiana; and Jordan, 21, will be a rising junior at EC this fall. Scott is also an ordained IPHC pastor having helped plant and pastor churches in Virginia and West Virginia. "My mission is to love, equip and inspire people to maximize their potential in service to God and human-kind." To that end, Scott is passionate about working with college students to help them find and fulfill God's call for their life.
