Mike Luper holds a B.A. from West Coast Christian College, M.Div. from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, and Ph.D. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has taught Biblical Studies, Greek, and Hermeneutics at EC since 1997.
Dr. Luper says, “My wife and I came to Emmanuel College… with a sense that this is where the Lord wanted us to be. I had been teaching… in my home state of California, but felt the Lord leading us away…. Each year we grow more confident we are in the center of God’s will for our lives. Our time here has been filled with great excitement as we have seen the Lord working… both in the college community and in our own lives. We expect to continue to see the hand of the Lord upon the college as we move forward together in Him.”
Tony Moon holds an A.A. and a B.S. from Emmanuel College, M.Div. from Eastern Mennonite Seminary, Th.M. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and D.Min. from Columbia Theological Seminary. Since 1982 he has taught Biblical Studies, Ministry, History and Theology of Pentecostalism, and Marriage and the Family at EC. He also pastors a Pentecostal Holiness church.
Dr. Moon says, “Over the years I have come to realize more and more what an awesome responsibility it is to serve on the faculty of a Christian college. My sincere desire is to be a positive influence on my students both in the classroom and out. Through teaching, befriending, mentoring and modeling, I desire to partner with students in their development toward Christian commitment and maturity, in their discernment of God’s call, and in their preparation for fulfilling that call.”
Paul Oxley holds a B.A. from Oklahoma City University, Th.B., from Southwestern College, M.A. from University of Oklahoma and M.Div. from Oral Roberts University; he has also done graduate study at UGA. He has taught at EC since 1982; his courses include the Philosophy of Religion, Christian Ethics, Theology, and Cross-Cultural Ministries.
Mr. Oxley says, “Teaching is exciting to me because I believe learning and personal growth are part of the ongoing experience of being human, especially being a Christian…. I enjoy teaching theology courses which encourage students to work out their own views. Theology… is a most practical and prayerful subject matter that is needed for developing our personal beliefs…Theological education results in practice…. I am blessed to see Emmanuel students in action sharing their time, talents and lives.”
