Honor Societies (for induction to an Honor Society nomination is required) § Alpha Chi A co-educational society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character, as demonstrated through students in the top 10% of the junior and senior classes § Lambda Pi Eta Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA) to recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies § Omicron Delta Kappa Established in 1999, the circle of ODK is a premier leadership society. Juniors and seniors who are in the top one-third of their class and who exemplify servant leadership are inducted each spring. § Pi Gamma Mu This honor society is designated to foster excellence and promote cooperation among the social sciences. § Sigma Beta Delta A national Business Honor Society for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business or business related studies § Sigma Tau Delta An international English Honor Society for English majors and minors who have at least a 3.0 GPA and sophomore standing Special Interest Organizations § Student Government Association ( The purpose of the Student Government Association of Emmanuel College is to develop student responsibility, leadership and initiative, to establish a spirit of cooperation among students, faculty, and administration, and uphold a high standard of character, achievement, and appreciation for the policies and goals of this institution. § Campus Activities Board (CAB) CAB is a board of elected representatives from each class who work with the Student Activities Coordinator to foster an environment of positive social interaction among the student body through events and activities with the intent of building a strong, united community. § Emmanuel Leadership Initiative (ELI) ELI exists to catalyze an environment of shared values and behaviors that contagiously affect students to think and act like servant leaders as we use our influences to advance the § Baptist Student Union (BSU) A student led Christ-centered organization for fellowship, mission projects, social recreation, and retreats. An organization for one to give, grow, learn and serve. § Bridge Builders Bridge Builders provides opportunities for § Creator’s Club The Creator’s Club exists to fulfill two purposes: first, to provide a forum for organized discussion on campus of written, performing, and visual arts, and, second to engender the creative presentation and appreciation of campus originality through public readings, performances, displays, and Christian fellowship. § Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) FCA exists to promote spiritual development and opportunities for ministry to those interested in athletic activity § Fencing Club The Fencing Club was created to all Emmanuel students to develop Christian character in a competitive environment while promoting excellence in fencing and pursue personal physical well-being. § International Students Club The International Students Club provides international students opportunities to share together and assist one another with cultural, social and academic adjustments, while raising the overall cultural awareness on campus. § Intramural Athletics Intramural Athletics is a member of NIRSA, the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association and provides competitive sports and special interest games open to all students. Departmental Clubs § CMENC The § Christian Service Organization CSO is designed to reinforce a sense of community within the School of Christian Ministries by, first, developing relevant Chapel services, two, organizing beneficial events , and, third, facilitating outreach both on-campus and in the community. § Education Club The Education Club seeks to promote mutual appreciation and friendliness among future teachers and attempts to inspire them to acquire vision and broaden their worldview. § History Society The History Club is a community of § PSYC Club The purpose of this club is to provide enrichment activities for interested students in the areas of research, professional development, and service to the campus and community. § Science Club The Kepler Society provides opportunities for students to serve and learn that involve Christian service opportunities in the areas of the scientific community. § I.M.P.A.C.T. IMPACT (Integrating Math Principles and Christ's Teachings) is open to all students interested in making a difference on campus and in the community through math related programs and activities. § S.I.F.E. S.I.F.E. offers students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom to solve real world problems. Through the process of teaching and serving others, the students will know the true scope of their personal potential. § Communication Club EC’s local chapter of the National Communication Association (NCA) provides academic and social opportunities for communication majors and minors to build resumes and gain experience. Student Ministries (ministry teams are under the direction of § Emmanuel Players Emmanuel Players is a small group ministry that travels primarily to churches, youth events, and camps to share the Gospel through drama. § Emmanuel Singers The Emmanuel Singers is the campus’ traveling choir that tours and ministers in and around the southeast region. § Other Side of Praise The Other Side of Praise is a Step Team ministry at § United in Harmony United in Harmony Ministry recognizes the beauty of various backgrounds. Being brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ the ministry celebrates both differences and similarities in ethnic and cultural identity. § Emmanuel Children’s Ministry Team The Emmanuel Children’s Ministry team works with children in churches, schools, and one on one to share the love of Jesus through drama. § Emmanuel Ministerial Fellowship Emmanuel Ministerial Fellowship is an organization that provides fellowship, encouragement, confirmation, training, and ministry opportunities for Christian men and women who have God’s call on their lives to preach the written Word. Its student leaders work with local pastors, local churches and the Georgia Conference of the § “At Midnight” Mime Team “At Midnight” is a ministry that incorporates dance, drama, and silent praise with its purpose to interpret God’s word through silent worship to the saved and unsaved. The Montage, Emmanuel’s literary magazine, is an annual campus-wide publication of student’s creative writing and original artwork. The deadline for submission is usually in late November of the fall, and the magazine’s release is in April of the spring semester. § Yearbook The EC Yearbook provides the campus community an accurate pictorial of the annual events in and around campus. |
