Emmanuel College and Coach Scott Borchers is proud to announce two more additions to the EC Men’s Soccer program.  Kyle Ellis of Flowery Branch, GA and Ivan Garcia-Castanon of Winder, GA have signed to play for the EC Soccer Lions.  “These two young men have been added to help with the stability of our midfield and our goal production,” states Coach Borchers.

 Kyle Ellis

Kyle Ellis comes to EC from Flowery Branch High School where he scored 29 goals helping the Falcons to a Final Four appearance in 2008.  Kyle has great size and strength to compete at collegiate level.  “If Kyle can make the transition to the college game I expect him to be a major contributor as a freshman” states Coach Borchers.

According to Borchers, “Ellis strikes the ball very well and has a knack for finding the back of the net.  We will be looking for him to play valuable minutes and help improve our goal production for the years to come”.

 Ivan Garcia-Castanon

Ivan Garcia-Castanon comes to EC from Apalachee High School where he was a stand-out midfielder for the Wildcats.  He helped lead AHS to the state play-offs in 2008.
Ivan is a very technical player, a very hard worker, and is a good distributor of the ball. Garcia-Castanon’s hard work and great field vision will make him a huge asset for EC all over the field. “We are looking at Ivan as a utility type player, he has many strengths and will help us all over the field his first year,” Coach Borchers says of Ivan.

The EC Soccer program welcomes these two young men with open arms and look forward to seeing them in a Lions uniform soon!
