New Board Members at EC

 

(FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.)--Emmanuel College proudly welcomes new board members Wendy Vinson and Errol Stafford. They were named to EC’s Board of Trustees at the annual spring meeting. The board also named Linda Thomas as chairperson, the first time in the college’s 90 years a woman chairs the Board of Trustees.

 

Vinson is the Senior Vice President of Marketing of The Inspiration Ministries, home of the cable television network INSP - The Inspiration Network. She has more than 20 years of experience in the cable industry and was inducted into the Virginia Cable Hall of Fame in 2007. Vinson graduated from Emmanuel in 1981 with her associate’s degree and went on to earn a bachelor’s in education from Coker College in South Carolina and a master’s in communication, television and journalism from Regent University in Virginia.

 

“I believe in the vision and mission of Emmanuel College,” Vinson says. “I believe God desires to raise up students from Emmanuel who will transform the airwaves. We must take back what is rightfully ours,” she adds as she refers to a newly formed internship program between Emmanuel's Communication Program and Inspiration Ministries.

 

Stafford is from Tallahassee, Fla. and works in real estate development and management. He is a member of the Christian Heritage Church in and serves as a member of the General Board of Administration for the IPHC.

 

Thomas is from Vanceboro, N.C., where she is Vice President of Thomas Development, Inc., a commercial real estate company. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees in March 2001 and served as Secretary in 2007. She is very active in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) Women’s Ministries, where she serves as Assistant Director. She has served as Director of North Carolina IPHC Women’s Ministries.

 

Founded in 1919, Emmanuel College is a Christ-centered, liberal arts college in Franklin Springs, Ga. It is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate and baccalaureate degrees.
