Summer Fine Arts Camp at Emmanuel Arts Academy

The Arts Academy at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., will offer its third Fine Arts Summer Camp for 3rd through 12th graders from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily June 15-19, 2009. Registration is open through May 29 or until spaces are filled.

A community extension of Emmanuel College, the Arts Academy offers professional arts training for the community and focuses on quality professional instruction while integrating faith and the arts.

The summer camp offers five specialty areas in addition to special arts presentations, elective classes, worship and recreation. Students will have the opportunity to study intensively in the following areas:
  • Classical Music: master classes in piano, voice, strings, woodwinds & brass; classes in music theory, music appreciation and small ensemble participation
  • Communication Arts: creative writing and film studies
  • Musical Theatre: singing, acting, and dance
  • Worship Arts: contemporary praise & worship for vocalists and instrumentalists
  • Visual Arts: art, art appreciation, photography
Students who are undecided about a specialty area will have the opportunity to try several different areas including art, guitar, piano, voice and photography.

Camp instructors are Emmanuel College professors and Arts Academy instructors.  The cost for the week is $135 including supplies, lunch daily, and T-shirt.

“I am looking forward to our third year of camp,” Arts Academy Director Deborah Stark says. “Enrollment is filling up, and I can’t wait to discover and help develop arts talent in our community,” Dr. Stark says.

After camp, students will have the opportunity to register for fall community classes through the Academy.
