A Subject search is a more precise search than keyword search. Each title has been assigned a subject (by the Library of Congress) to describe the content of the title. When you enter a subject heading  and do a subject search, you can find book titles which have been assigned that subject heading.  Ask library staff for help in searching subject heading if you are not successful in finding books with the subject term you use.

For example, when you enter the subject heading "Mathematics--Study and teaching (Elementary)", and click Subject search icon, you will find all the titles about elementary mathematics education.

Please note:  A subject term you may key in may not be a subject heading used by the Library of Congress and you may not retrieve any results.  Library staff can help you identify the correct subject term.

If there is more than one match for a subject, title, author, call number, or series, a hyperlinked number appears in place of a Material type button. If you Click the number, you can open a selection list for that heading. In this example, if you click 64, a list of titles under that subject will appear.
