Circulation Policy

Patrons who have a current Emmanuel College identification card may check out materials. Non- students may obtain a library card by completing a library application form and paying a $10.00 deposit.

Reserve materials are placed on reserve at the Circulation Desk upon the request of instructors. All materials are Library Use Only and must be signed out for reading or photocopying.

Loan Periods:

Hold Requests:

When the materials needed are checked out, hold requests can be placed to reserve the materials.

Renewals:

Circulation materials may be renewed in person or by phone as long as there is no holding request upon the item.  Call the Circulation Desk at x2848 for phone renewals.

Interlibrary Loan Service: 

If the library does not own an item needed, the interlibrary loan service is available. Patrons need to fill out the interlibrary loan form online http://www.ec.edu/Library/illbookrequest.asp for a book request or http://www.ec.edu/Library/illperiodicalrequest.asp for a periodical (journal) article, so the item can be borrowed from other institutions. This service is available only to Emmanuel College Faculty, Staff, and Students whose library record shows no outstanding fines or overdue books.

Overdue Material Fines: 

Non-circulating materials:

Periodicals are non-circulating material for students. Copies can be made at the copy machine on the first floor. 

Audio-visual materials are Library Use Only for students. Students can use the materials in the audio-visual lab (located on the 2nd floor) which is equipped with VCRs and DVD players.  The music lab houses a cassette and CD player.

UGA library borrower's card:

Local faculty, staff and Resident students can go to Royston Public Library and apply for a UGA borrower's library card for a limited time for $10. Please allow 7 business days to process the card.. It can be renewed for free within the expiration date. The card can be used in the UGA library. Non-resident students should check with their local public libraries to see if they have a similar agreement with the UGA library.

GPALS reciprocal library borrowing privileges:

Faculty, staff and students can receive a GPALS Borrowers Card from the Director of Library Servcies to use the facilities of and to borrow circulating materials at the following GPALS libraries:
Andrew College, Art Institute of Atlanta, Atlanta Christian College, Berry College, Brewton-Parker College, Covenant College, John Marshall Law School, Piedmont College, Psychological Studies Institute, Savannah College of Art and Design, Shorter College, Thomas College, Toccoa Falls College, Truett-McConnell College, Wesleyan College, Young Harris College.
