The SCM Building houses the offices of the Emmanuel College School of Christian Ministries. It was built in 1919 by the General Church Board to house the manager of Advocate Press, Rev. R. H. Lee and his family. Rev. Lee purchased the home from the church and lived there for over 20 years and thus, it became known as the Lee House.
In the 1940's, Rev. Lee resigned his position and sold the house to the college. It was used in many capacities, including staff housing, overflow dormitory space, and storage. When the SCM was organized in 1973, the Lee House was remodeled and converted into office space for the SCM faculty and staff. |
