As the college continued to grow during the 60's and 70's it became apparent that more housing would be needed. President Culbreth Y. Melton coordinated the efforts to build a new residence hall which was completed in 1975 and was named in honor of President Emeritus W.G. Drum. Drum Hall was built on the west side of the quadrangle and completed the framing of the quad on all four sides. The facility features a suite-like arrangement in four stories with individual lobbies on each residence floor. In addition, on the first floor there is a large main lobby, a kitchen, laundry facilities, and a two bedroom apartment for the residence director. It can house as many as 72 students.
