Talent Quest ScholarshipTalent Quest Scholarship

A scholarship is given to students who have first place winnings on the conference and/or national level from International Pentecostal Holiness Church Talent Quest competitions (Teen Talent, Bible Quest and Royal Rangers) sponsored by the General Department of Church Education.

Award

The scholarships are award on the following basis:

For each first place conference win, the student receives a $300 scholarship to be divided over two semesters at $150 per semester.  For students with multiple first place conference wins, multiple $300 scholarships will be awarded, each to be divided over two semesters at $150 per semester.

For each first place national win, the student receives a $1,400 scholarship (which includes the $300 scholarship for the conference win that allowed the student to go to nationals) to be divided over eight semesters at $175 per semester.  For students with multiple first place national wins, multiple $1,400 scholarship will be awarded, each to be divided over eight semesters at $175 per semester.

If an individual wins first place in National Teen Talent after beginning enrollment at Emmanuel College, the award will be awarded based on the following scale (it is the student’s responsibility to bring this to the attention of the Financial Aid Office):

For wins after the first year of enrollment, the student receives a $1,400 scholarship (which includes the $300 scholarship for the conference win that allowed the student to go to nationals) to be divided over six semesters at $233 per semester. For students with multiple first place national wins after the first year of enrollment, multiple $1,400 scholarship will be awarded, each to be divided over six semesters at $233 per semester.

For wins after the second year of enrollment, the student receives a $1,400 scholarship (which includes the $300 scholarship for the conference win that allowed the student to go to nationals) to be divided over four semesters at $350 per semester.  For students with multiple first place national wins after the first year of enrollment, multiple $1,400 scholarship will be awarded, each to be divided over four semesters at $350 per semester. 

 

For wins after the third year of enrollment, the student receives a $1,400 scholarship (which includes the $300 scholarship for the conference win that allowed the student to go to nationals) to be divided over two semesters at $700 per semester.  For students with multiple first place national wins after the first year of enrollment, multiple $1,400 scholarship will be awarded, each to be divided over two semesters at $700 per semester.

 

This scholarship is not available during the summer semester. 

Application

The Emmanuel College Application for Financial Aid is the application for this discount.  This application needs to be completed each year.

The student must provide official verification of the winnings to the Office of Financial Aid.  This includes the award certificates received for each category or a letter from the Christian Education Ministries (CEM) Director’s office verifying the years and categories won.

Renewal

Students are eligible to receive this scholarship each year, provided that they maintained Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

Additional Requirements

The recipient of this scholarship must qualify as follows:

1.    Must be officially accepted for admission and enrolled as a full-time degree seeking student at Emmanuel College;

2.    To maximize financial aid eligibility, students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year;

3.    Must have a completed Financial Aid file by June 15th;

4.    Must be coordinated with other financial aid awarded;

5.    Must be willing to participate in the assigned responsibilities related to their area of talent;

6.    This scholarship is non-transferable to other students or to any other institution; and

7.    This scholarship is not redeemable for cash.
