Federal Regulations require that every borrower who received funds under the Federal Stafford Loan Program (Subsidized and Unsubsidized) to complete an “Exit Counseling Session” when dropping below a half-time status, withdrawing from college, or graduating.
Online Student Loan Counseling is a service offered by USA Funds. Created with the help of students and financial aid professionals. Online Student Loan Counseling enables student to complete the counseling requirement anytime, anywhere. The purpose of the session is to help you understand your rights and obligations as a student loan borrower.
This student loan counseling will prepare you for proper management of you student loan, helping you make the most of your higher education. Questions are given throughout the counseling session, and you must provide correct answers before being allowed to proceed.
To complete the the personal information section of this session, you are advised to have the following information available:
Your Social Security Number
Your Driver's License Number
Your Current Address and Telephone
Name, Address. Telephone Number of your Expected Employer
Name, Address, Telephone Number of Your Closest Family Member
Name, Address, Telephone Number of three references whom the lender could contact if they should lose contact with you
If you do not have Internet access in your home, please find a friend, neighbor, relative, library, school, church, etc. who will allow you to complete this important task.
Follow the on-line instructions taking you through the program. You will be instructed, at numerous checkpoints, to answer questions pertaining to information you have just read. The Office of Financial Aid will be notified that you have completed this requirement.
The average Federal Stafford Loan indebtedness for our 2007 spring graduates is $19,246.
