Endowed and Funded Scholarships Endowed and Funded Scholarships

Important information concerning Endowed and Funded Scholarships:

  • Since funding for these scholarships is limited, students whose files are complete before or on April 15th are the first to be considered.  Early file completion is the key to being considered for these scholarships.
  • You are strongly encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (click here) and the Emmanuel College Application for Financial Aid (click here) as soon as possible, but no earlier that January 1st for the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year.  If a scholarship has "need" as one of its eligiblity criteria, the Office of Financial Aid must have the results of a processed FAFSA on file.
  • If your FAFSA has been selected for a review process, verification*, by the U.S. Department of Education, this process must be completed before you will be considered for any of these scholarships.
  • These scholarships are not renewable from one academic year to the next, but must be applied for each year.
  • Applying for these scholarships does not guarantee that you will receive one or more of these scholarships.
  • All endowed and funded scholarships require full-time enrollment and a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0 unless stated otherwise.
  • Scholarship award amounts are usually $1,000.
  • If you have applied for one or more of scholarships and there is no funding available in those scholarships, the Office of Financial Aid will do its best to find other endowed and/or funded scholarships for which you may qualify.  The reason we ask you to select one or more of these scholarships is to assist the Office of Financial Aid in awarding any scholarship that may have specific eligibility requirements.
  • If you are awared any one of these scholarships, a "Scholarship Acknowledgement Form" must be completed before funds will be disbursed to your student account.  Some scholarships may require additional documentation.
  • Other institutional restrictions may apply.

* Approximately 30% of all Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSAs) filed are selected for a review process called verification by the U.S. Department of Education.  In this process, the Office of Financial Aid is required by law to compare your FAFSA information with signed copies of 2007 federal tax forms, other financial documents, etc. The law says the Office of Financial Aid has the right to ask you for this information.  This required documentation will need to be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid immediately, so that your financial aid will not be delayed.
