3% Discount3% Discount

Emmanuel College offers a 3% discount on tuition, housing and board charges to students if their student account is settled (paid) by the discount deadline.  This discount may be as much as $535 for the 2008-2009 year.  Please note that partial discounts for partial payments are NOT available.  Joint enrolled students are not eligible to receive this discount.

Discount Deadlines

For students to receive the 3% Discount for the fall semester, their school charges for the fall must be paid in full by July 16th.  To receive it for the spring semester, their school charges for the spring semester must be paid in full by is December 1st.

How To Qualify for the Discount

You can settle your account through one and/or more of the following:

  • Finalized financial aid including all loans, grants, and scholarships (for some students the amount of financial aid received may not be sufficient to cover all costs charged by EC)
  • A signed and approved FACTS deferred payment contract
  • A cash, check, or money order payment on account
  • Approved charge to a valid debit or credit card

Using Financial Aid to Settle Account

If financial aid is being used to settle the student's account, it is important for students and/or parents to realize that the students' financial aid file must be completed prior to the 3% Discount Deadlines to allow for processing time.  Students wanting to qualify for the 3% discount for the fall semester must have their financial aid files completed by July 1st.  To qualify for the discount in the spring semester, their file must be complete by November 15th.

Most students must have the following on file:

  • The results of a valid Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Signed tax forms, W2s, and other documentation if FAFSA is chosen for verification*
  • Finalized paper/online applications for scholarships, grants, and loans
  • A signed Award Letter if you have been awarded Federal Stafford and/or PLUS (Parent) Loans

*Approximately 30% of all FAFSAs filed are selected by the U.S. Department of Education for a review process called verification.  In this process, the Office of Financial Aid is required by law to compare your FAFSA information with signed copies of your federal tax forms, other financial documents, etc.  If your FAFSA is been selected for this process, additional documentation will be requested from you.
