ENGLISH MINOR

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

To be approved as a minor in English, students must submit an application form to the chair of the English and Foreign Languages Department.

REQUIREMENTS

In addition to completing the requirements of the liberal arts core and the requirements for a major in another area, the following courses must be taken to qualify as an English minor:

    One of the following language courses           3 hrs.

      EN 260 (Advanced Grammar)

      EN 370 (Advanced Composition)

      EN 380 (History of the English Language)

    Five upper level English courses¹                12 hrs.

TOTAL                                                         18 hrs.

1  The student taking the English minor is strongly encouraged to select a course in Western World Literature if he/she does not include a course in world history (HY 110/111) in fulfillment of the liberal arts core.
