After GraduationAfter Graduation

What can I do with this major?

Our first Communications alumnus is Phillip Bowen ('98).  He currently serves as the Chief Communications Officer of In Touch Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring Dr. Charles Stanley. Phillip is a member of the Emmanuel College Board of Trustees and enjoys serving as EC's National Alumni Association President.

The day of graduation, May 2006, the Marketing Director of LifeSprings Resources in Franklin Springs, Ga., contracted with Lauren Cox ('06) and Melissa Gay ('06) for a week-long video shoot in North Carolina. The week after returning, LifeSprings hired Melissa to work during the summer in their Graphic Design Department while an employee was on leave. Lauren continues to work in layout and design for a local real estate magazine, a job she has had a couple of years.

Brock Tibbs ('03) worked in EC's Alumni & Development Office for a year after graduation where he was able to further his knowledge and skills in video production and special event planning. In 2005, he became the Multimedia Director of Trinity Church International in West Palm Beach, Fla.

A month after gradation, Amy Harper ('03) was hired by The DeMoss Group, an international public relations firm who handle accounts like Franklin Graham and Women of Faith. Later that year, Amy became Emmanuel's first full-time Student Activities Director, a part-time position she had held while in school at EC. In fall 2006, Amy begins course work at New York University toward a Master of Arts in Higher Education Student Administration.

Christina Jenkinson Spearman ('01 Valedictorian) is just four classes short of finishing her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at East Carolina University, where she also works as a Residence Hall Coordinator. She earned her Master of Education in Student Affairs from Clemson University.
