The Emmanuel College (EC) Lady Lions Basketball Team overpowered Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) rival Reinhardt College Lady Eagles (64-50) in action in the EC Lions’ Den on Saturday, February 23, 2008.

 

RaShunda Laster dominated the boards, collecting 6 offensive and 15 defensive rebounds. RaShunda also dished-out 2 assists and blocked 1 Lady Eagle shot. Felecia Towler led the Lady Lions scoring effort with 12 points. Ashley Jackson netted 9 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Shekela Bradley scored 8 points, Tenea Mann scored 7 points, and Caneisha Bell and Mallory Hill scored 6 points each. The Lady Lions improved their overall record to an impressive 20-7 and their SSAC record to 12-6. Coach Mike Bona and the EC Lady Lions will host the Brenau University Golden Tigers in their home-season finale and ‘Senior Night’ in the EC Lions’ Den on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Tip-off is scheduled for 6PM. The EC Lady Lions, National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) South-Region Champions, will be traveling to Oakland City, IN, March 13-15, to participate in the NCCAA National Tournament.

 

Kinsey Galyon led the Lady Eagles scoring attack with 18 points. Kinsey also grabbed 6 rebounds, and collected 2 steals. Nichole Willis netted 11 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Kathy Thornton pulled down 6 rebounds, and Karina Gass scored 6 points. The Lady Eagles record dropped to 10-18 overall and 5-13 in the SSAC. Coach Amanda Clonts and the Lady Eagles will be hosting SSAC rival Shorter College Lady Hawks in Waleska on Thursday, February 28, 2008, with tip-off set for 6 PM.
