Students are granted regular acceptance if they have achieved the following:

  • A GPA of 2.00 or higher if the student is on a College Prep or General Diploma Track or a 2.5 or higher if the student is on a Technical Prep track in High School

  • A minimum of 860 or higher on the SAT (combination of the Critical Reading and Math Score) or an ACT composite score of 18 or higher

When an application is received that does not meet the stated minimum requirements, the applicant is notified that he/she may appeal for reconsideration. If an appeal for reconsideration is received, the applicant’s file is referred to the Admissions Committee for review and response. Additional documents will be required:

  1. Completed Recommendation from your Pastor, Youth Pastor, or other character witness (the form will be provided by the Admissions Office)

  2. Two Academic Recommendations (the form will be provided by the Admissions Office)

  3. C. A hand-written 200 word essay written by the applicant entitled “My Reasons for Attending Emmanuel College.”

The applicant will be required to come on campus to take ACCUPLACER Testing and then their file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. The decision of the Admissions Committee is final. Students who appeal their admissions decision and are accepted will be enrolled on Conditional Acceptance status. Their academic load for the first semester will be limited to 12-13 hours, they may be required to enroll in one or more developmental studies courses and they may be required to meet with an Academic Counselor periodically during the semester. Failure to earn at least a 2.0 GPA will result in their placement on Academic Probation.
